The top four most dangerous metro areas for pedestrians were Orlando-Kissimmee, Tampa-St.Pete-Clearwater, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Pompano Beach, and Jacksonville, respectively.

Sadly, today's newspaper confirms these data: http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/accidents/two-hillsborough-boys-hit-killed-on-bicycles-in-two-days/1068586
ReplyDeleteThese accidents reveal that bike riding can be dangerous. Also, both accidents involved very young drivers (17 and 16). I sometimes wonder whether having a better transit system might reduce the number of teens involved in auto accidents. As a mother I must say I think 16 is too young to drive, but I understand why 16 year olds want to have some independence.
